The Israeli Beer Club - about us
The Israeli Beer Club does to promote beer and home brewing. The Club was founded in 2002 by Sagi Cooper, an Israeli food and wine journalist and a home brewer. We are an independent, voluntary association with some 650 members across Israel.
The IBC promotes beer consumers' rights, beer quality and choice, both of local, boutique or commercial beer, and imported beer; it is our aim to broaden the scope, rather then take care of this or other group. We do, however, promote beer heritage, tradition, and culture, and campaign for appreciation of these, rather then mere beer consumerism. As a consumers' group, we seek to better beer serving and understanding between bars, pubs and consumers.
Among our activities:
The annual Israeli Beer Club home brewers competition: this takes place every year, in June, with the support of Samuel Adams Beer and Tempo beer breweries.
Forums, workshops and events, as well as group meetings.
